The Gary Sinise Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to honoring and empowering veterans and their families. Established by actor and philanthropist Gary Sinise, the foundation is best known for its R.I.S.E. Signature initiatives include the Impact Awards, Bob Woodruff Fellows Program, and Emergency Assistance Fund. Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a nonprofit dedicated to building and donating specially adapted custom homes for severely wounded post-9/11 veterans, enabling independent living and improving quality of life. Since 2004, HFOT has completed more than 300 mortgage-free homes nationwide. The organization also offers volunteer and fundraising programs to support its mission. Additionally, HFOT advocates for veterans’ needs at the federal level. By partnering with donors, builders, and volunteers, HFOT honors veterans’ sacrifices through safe, barrier-free housing.
Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit committed to building strong, stable, veteran families so they can thrive in the communities they’ve worked to protect. Best known for its Emergency Financial Assistance program, it provides critical aid -such as rent, utilities, auto repairs, and grocery grants to military families facing unexpected hardship. Through its Homes on the Homefront initiative, Operation Homefront builds and awards mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans, and offers transitional housing, caregiver support, and community events that honor service and strengthen resilience.
